What started as a humble vision in 2005 to improve his – our founder Nick Kemp – own farm’s efficiency soon sprouted into something much bigger.
Nick built his first feed growth chamber to grow nutrient-dense, high-quality feed for his livestock — right on the farm. It was a game-changer.
Other farmers began to take notice, and Green2Gro was born. From that single chamber, we expanded to help farmers across South Africa unlock smarter, more sustainable ways to grow.
In 2010, we outgrew Modimolle and moved operations to Krugersdorp, where we scaled up to support even more farmers and growers.
By 2015, we planted roots in Paarl, Western Cape, and our vision began to branch out. We ventured beyond animal feed into the production of microgreens, vegetables, mushrooms, and edible flowers — all grown with precision and care.

Real Stories, Real Growth
Fresh Fodder Systems for Endangered Rhinos
A rhino conservation farm integrated our Fresh Fodder Systems to provide organic, nutrient-rich feed like barley for endangered rhinos. The super fresh and healthy feed improved the overall health and well-being of the rhinos, contributing to the farm's conservation efforts.
Urban Leafy Greens Systems
Urban farming projects can use our Leafy Greens Systems to supply local communities with fresh produce. This would reduce food miles, lower the urban heat island effect, and provide a reliable source of fresh, organic greens, enhancing local food security and sustainability.
Fresh Fodder Systems for Dairy Farms
A large dairy farm in South Africa adopted our Fresh Fodder Systems, producing high-quality, pesticide-free feed year-round. The result was a 20% increase in milk production and significant savings in water and feed costs.
Chicken Feed Systems for Poultry Farms
A poultry farm implemented our CEA systems to produce fresh, organic feed for their chickens. This resulted in healthier birds, improved egg production, and reduced reliance on external feed suppliers, leading to lower costs and higher quality produce.
